The desire to learn art began as a child with lessons in drawing. Growing up on a farm in Illinois, I loved to be out with the animals and began drawing my dogs, horses and cats. Formal art classes began in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy with Larry Casso. I studied and painted at his studio for 12 years. My love of capturing the personality of animals blossomed and developed over time. I especially enjoy and strive to capture the expression of animals. Animal portraiture is my love and I so enjoy bringing someone’s pet to life on paper. My mediums of choice are pastel and watercolor. - Anne
